Shaw Auto Enthusiast Club

   Welcome to the SAEC Website!

A little about us, the Shaw Automotive Enthusiast Club.First a little disclaimer The club will not and does not represent, nor will be endorsed by  Shaw AFB, the United States Air Force (USAF) or the Department of Defense (DOD)

Our passion for the loud nasty hand crafted I love it I call it my own Automobile! Each other, The Camraderie, Our Brothers and Sisters of the Armed Forces, past resent and future!

We Are Shaw's newest official organization the SAEC. It is a club that is open to all military ID card holders.  We encourage everyone with an interest in anything automotive to join our growing club.

Our main reason for forming the club is to bring other car enthusiasts together in a way that only the military can serve up.  We are all special in that we have several things in common.  First and most importantly, we choose to serve in the military, next we are brought together by our love of automobiles.  Lastly, I believe we all have a
need to help others.  This club will bring people together who would not normally associate with one another through other commonalities.  A good example of that is the import car enthusiast and domestic car enthusiasts do not normally get together. The sky is the limit with the club as to how we can help the community, the base, and its club members.  We have basic guidelines, but we need to develop the club to
make it what we want.  I would like to see us be able to help other members if they run into roadblocks fixing their hotrod; we should try and help members personally if they need it.  It's just another support system in place to help people in their endeavors.  We will be able to network with other squadrons, gain insight to what other people do for a living, and mentor the newest enthusiast.  We will not push people away based on what they drive, how they drive, or what they know.  The best part is seeing people within the club getting together not only for a "Corvette only" cruise, but also, "Hey, lets all get together and drive up to support our members going for the pro-solo championship".  If you are an enthusiast then you know what I'm saying.

Thank you again for giving us this opportunity as we continue to grow. This is a great time on Shaw AFB to be an automotive enthusiast. We will create more opportunities based on the ideas we get from members, and will gladly take into consideration any ideas it members have for the club. To get more information or to become a member please email matt.thewes@shaw.af.mil or Dante.quintiliani@shaw.af.mil
Soon we will bring families in, and become even tighter. We are very passionate about our hobby, and consider ourselves well rounded in regards to what we prefer to work on. If we can help the younger folks learn to be more responsible in their hobby, it'll go a long way to help keep them out of trouble. One of our fears is that we loose a young Airman to a tragic wreck due to excessive speed in his newly purchased sports car. We can definitely have a substantial impact in mitigating this potential.
